Finding Your Size
When measuring your dog, keep in mind that the collar will need to slip over the head as it doesn't have a clip. Head size matters just as much as neck size.
Measure the widest part of your dog's head, then their neck as you would for a standard collar. Go with the larger measurement, then refer to our size guide.
New collar feeling snug? That's normal. The wool lining will compress and bed down with regular wear, giving a little more room as it settles in.

How to Measure
To measure your hound you'll need either a soft measuring tape, or a piece of string and a ruler. If using string, wrap it around the measuring point, mark it, then measure the length against your ruler.
Chest
Wrap your tape measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Length
Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, with your hound's head in a natural raised position.
Head
Measure around the widest part of your hound's head, just in front of the ears - this is the widest point a martingale collar needs to slip over.
Neck
Measure around the neck where the collar will sit, usually at the base.
Material
Leather martingale collars: Premium bridle leather with a wool lining. Finished with stainless steel hardware that won't rust or tarnish.
Rolled leather leads: 100% bridle leather. Finished with stainless steel hardware that won't rust or tarnish.
Care Instructions
Cleaning Wipe down with a slightly damp cloth or soft non-abrasive sponge and a mild soap solution. Avoid harsh or solvent-based cleaners - they'll strip the leather and shorten its life.
Drying If your lead or collar gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally. Never dry leather in direct sunlight or near a heat source.
Conditioning Keep the leather nourished and looking its best by treating it periodically with a leather conditioner or neutral-toned leather balm, applied according to the product's instructions. This also helps repel dirt and oils over time.
